Older 4's - Mrs. Rainey's Rainbow Rabbits

Welcome to the new 2008/ 2009 school year! If you are new to our school, then welcome to SPCS, too!

I am looking forward to meeting all the new Rainbow Rabbits. Students in Mrs. Rainey’s older 4’s class become “Rainbow Rabbits.” We have a lot of fun and learning with science, music, alphabet and numbers. We recognize that we are pre-“school” so we will practice a lot with scissors, glue and printing our name along with good school behavior. For your practice sake — we only use capital letters on the beginning of our name, and the other letters are lower case.

For you parents and caregivers, there are some early dates to get on your calendars. They are:

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 10:30 - noon We hope everyone can come.
     Get Acquainted Play Day
Mrs. Rainey and Mrs. Maier will be in room 27 (upstairs) just before and after this play time
This is designed as a time for parents and children to enjoy the playground, and meet friends and teachers
There will be several classes on the playground, but you will know us right away
(remember--we are the Rainbow RABBITS !)

 THURSDAY, AUGUST 14 7:00 pm - 8:30 (?) pm
     Parent Orientation -- Parents Only
Start in the worship center (at the rear of the large room called Gathering Place)
Adjourn to our room 27 (upstairs) for more information
Receive your parent folder, with information and lots of forms to fill out

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19 or WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20
     School begins!
You will be assigned one of these days so that half the class comes each day
You will be able to see on Orientation Night August 14 which day is yours

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21
First whole day of school with all the students together

As the year goes along I know I will get to know your child as precious, adventuresome and smart. There are places on the Orientation forms to let me know of any special concerns. I have also enjoyed getting to know the students’ parents and grandparents as the year procedes. It takes a lot of planning, much prayer, and plenty of personal attention when a child is 4 years old going on 5!

Jesus loves the little children, and so do we!
