Mrs. Rainey’s Rainbow Rabbits
As this Connector arrives to our families, we are in the midst of our May Play Day! Did you make crafts together? Did you create an amazing block structure? Did you sing songs? We certainly hope you enjoyed the story we wrote for you! Thank you for sharing your time with us. We feel special and important when we see you having fun with your excited 5-year-old (that’s right, we are ALL five now).
With only one more week before the end of our school year, we still have great plans. We are continuing our study of safety. On Wednesday please send your child’s bike or 3-wheeler plus helmet, marked with his or her name. We will practice our road safety. Pray for pleasant weather! Thursday will be our last day together. We have some special activities planned. We will send home everything that is still up in the room, so please make sure you save a spot on your walls at home for our beautiful work.
Mrs. Rainey and Mrs. Maier so appreciate your trust and support this year with your well-loved children. We pray great blessings on them as they move to their next steps in the fall!
Mrs. Daugherty’s Fourth Grade Feature
We are wrapping up our study of ancient Egypt. The students have created interesting projects based on Egyptian daily life, architecture, arts, recreation, government and religion. They have produced reports, projects, food and artwork to inform us about Egyptian culture. The students will present their projects to the classroom on International Day.
In Science we are learning about recycling. Our fourth grade class went outside with Mrs. Brown to collect trash and use it to reconstruct a new useful item. They have learned about protecting the world that God gave us.
Our class has been discussing the beginning of the Church and the works of the apostles. Peter and Stephen set different, but very good examples of having a heart for God. Our students want to be strong witnesses for Christ but be ready to sacrifice our own desires for his will.
This Friday we will tour the outdoor museum of Conner Prairie. We have learned about the Native Americans, early settlers and famous Hoosiers responsible for making Indiana a great state. Now we want to put all this information into a real life situation (almost). Some students are hoping to throw a tomahawk, churn butter, trade with Indians or participate at the blab school of the 1830’s. Whatever the experience, we are looking forward to a good day!
Mostly we are preparing for fifth grade. The fourth grade students are working hard to learn all the skills needed for fifth grade. We want to perfect our long division and know all our prepositions before the last day of school. It has been a great year of learning and growing!
