Congratulations to all the bands at SPCS. You had a great performance last Thursday night. I am amazed at how much you have learned since the beginning of the school year. You should be very proud of your achievements. Thank-you for the planter full of spring flowers and the gift card. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
The schedule below is for all band students. We will meet in the music room (M3) at 8:00 a.m.
Monday, May 19th – Percussion only
Tuesday, May 20th – Trombones only
It has been a wonderful year for the sixth graders. They have come so far and accomplished so much in such a short period of time. We have been studying poetry in English and just finished a unit in math on probability and graphs. We will end our year in science with a volcano project. The students look forward to displaying all of their hard work during International Day as we will represent Canada. We just got back from Mammoth Cave as we were able to learn so much about history and witness one of God’s magnificent wonders. This year I have personally had the privilege to watch this group of sixth graders grow academically, emotionally, socially, and most of all spiritually. As they move forward I feel confident that they have prepared themselves for all of the challenges that lay ahead. I wish them all the best of luck and will miss them!
Where has the time gone? The last few weeks the kids have really got down to work and gotten a lot done.
In math, we are working hard on multiplication facts. Please keep working on addition and subtraction over the summer for third grade.
In Bible we have been talking about Jesus’ ascension and Pentecost.
We are studying about Brazil. Two moms came in and helped us with our gaucho hats and we will be making empanadas at the end of May. Mr. Stanifer is in Brazil right now and my class put an order in for him to bring us back some Guarana (Brazilian soda)!
Thanks for sharing your child with me. We have had a great time.
Start spreading the news,
We’re leaving Pre-K,
We want to be part of it, Kin-der-gar-ten.
We’re ready to go,
We’ve worked very hard.
And make a brand new start of it, Kin-der-gar-ten.
We’ve learned our ABC’s and our 1,2,3’s
So well,
We love to draw and make up stories to tell.
Just ask us to rhyme,
We’ll say tens and pens.
We’ve learned to share and get along
With all of our friends.
So now we’ve made it there,
We’ll make it anywhere,
We’re on our way,
Kin-der-gar-ten!
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for sharing your sweet children with us. It’s been a wonderful year. God bless you! ~ The McK Team – Mrs. McKenzie & Mrs. McKinney
