Three Year Olds

Threes come to school for a 2-day or a 3-day program. Since the maturity level varies, the younger threes may be ready for group play two days per week, while older threes are often ready for three days. Thus, our classes are based on age, but we make an effort to remain flexible with family needs.

Three year olds begin the school year with personal information but very little understanding about their peers. By the end of the year, they will have learned to seek out and make friends. They flourish in a routine. They like consistency and adapt to established classroom procedures. Threes have exciting imaginations and are beginning to express themselves verbally.

The threes’ curriculum is similar for all classes. Play is a major focus as they learn to cut, glue, paint, draw, use playdough and clay, finger paint, and play at the “corn table”. They blow bubbles, build with sand and run on the playground. They are happy learners as they develop self-esteem and self-confidence. Their social skills are reinforced during indoor play, outdoor play, music, snacks, art and storytime.
